George R. Boyer, 77 of Campbellsburg died at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, May 3 at Carroll County Hospital, Carrollton. He was a member of the Campbellsburg Baptist Church since 1910; charter member and past President of the Campbellsburg Lions Club; member of the Masonic Lodge of Campbellsburg for 50 years; President of the Louisville Barrow Show for 18 years; Past President and present director of the Kentucky Swine Association for 20 years; government employee of the Kentucky Tobacco Grading Service for 42 years; Registered Hampshire Breeder for 21 years; and local insurance agent in Campbellsburg for 39 years.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Patsy C. Boyer, Campbellsburg; One son, Willard C. Boyer, Campbellsburg; 2 grandchildren, Dave Boyer and Michael D. Boyer; four sisters, Mrs. Basil Jones, Somerset, Mrs. Jess Butler, Venice, Florida, Mrs. Martha Brown, Lexington, Mrs. Joe Scott, Sr., Campbellsburg; three brothers, Paul E. Boyer and J. S. Boyer, both of Campbellsburg and Brent Boyer, Turners Station.
Funeral services were conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Campbellsburg Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Smith officiating and Rev. Carl Rucker assisting. Interment was in the New Castle Cemetery.
