Arthur was a WWI veteran and served in France. On the day of Arthur's death, my granddad Albert, his brother, told me he showed up at the family home dressed in his uniform. He walked through the house and passed by him and went into the basement. He wasn't a ghostly apparition but solid like a real person. When Al informed his parents of Arthur's arrival, they told him he must be nuts as Arthur was in Europe. A few hours later they got the telegram that Arthur had been killed on the Western Front.
