Jessica Lynn Patterson, 21, of Franklin Township, died unexpectedly at 12:40 a.m. Sunday, October 16, 2005, in Whiteley Township.

She was born August 23, 1984, a daughter of Jesse William "Bud" Patterson Sr. of Waynesburg and the late Gloria Helen Snyder Patterson.

She had resided in the Wind Ridge and Aleppo areas most of her life, prior to moving to the Waynesburg area.

Miss Patterson attended West Greene High School and enjoyed playing pool. She enjoyed spend time with family, particularly her nieces and nephews. She was an outgoing person who enjoyed life.

Miss Patterson last was employed by Kyowa America Corp. in Waynesburg, in the line production department.

Surviving, in addition to her father, are four sisters, Sherry K., wife of Mike Bennett of Washington, Mitzie, wife of Josh Blake of Moundsville, W.Va., and Sheila L., wife of Mike Anderson, and Susie Patterson, both of Waynesburg; four brothers, Ed Patterson of Greensburg, Mike, husband of Gwynne Feikma Patterson of Moundsville, and Paul, husband of Betty Jones Snyder, and Jesse W. Patterson Jr., both of Waynesburg; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her mother, is a sister, Brenda E. Durbin.

Friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Rush Funeral Home Inc., Rogersville, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, with the Rev. Cathie Carpenter officiating. Interment will follow in Rosemont Cemetery, Center Township. Memorial contributions may be made directly to the family.

Greene woman hit, killed by truck

A woman whose sister died in a motorcycle accident in July was killed Sunday morning when she was struck by a pickup truck as she walked along Route 19 in Whiteley Township, Greene County.

Jessica Lynn Patterson, 21, of Franklin Township, was pronounced dead at 12:40 a.m. by Greene County Deputy Coroner Mary Lewis.

State police in Waynesburg said Patterson was struck by a pickup truck driven by Albert J. King, of Waynesburg.
King was traveling north near the intersection with Route 588 when he struck Patterson. Police said charges against King are pending.

Lewis said Patterson died of multiple injuries to her head, chest and extremities. An autopsy was being performed by Dr. Cyril Wecht, Allegheny County coroner.

Patterson lived in Wayne Village with her father, Jesse "Bud" Patterson. Her mother, Gloria Helen Snyder Patterson, is deceased.

Patterson also lost a sister, Brenda E. Durbin, less than three months ago. Durbin was a passenger on a motorcycle that wrecked July 20 on Route 18 in Franklin Township.
