Margaret Warner was born in Albany County, New York Province, and died in Cornwall Twp., Stormont Co., Canada West (Ontario), a daughter of Michael Warner U.E.L. and Margaretha Schrey.
The Michael Warner family was farming at Albany Bush, Tryon County, New York Province on the Mohawk River at the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. Michael Warner joined Sir John Johnson's King's Royal Regiment of New York, First Battalion, 6 May 1777, Capt. Patrick Daly's Co., served all the war, and was granted land in Cornwall Township in 1784 for his service and loyalty to the Crown.
Margaret Warner married George Gallinger, also a Loyalist soldier, son of Michael Gallinger U.E.L. and Agatha Ade.
Margaret Warner Gallinger was in the 1852 Cornwall Twp., Stormont County census record age 84 living with her youngest child Benjamin Gallinger (1815-1900) and family. Margaret died in 1853 and is buried with her husband at Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Cornwall.

That your Petitioner is the daughter of a Loyalist and has not received any lands as such as will more fully appear by the Certificate hereunto annexed, your petitioner therefore humbly prays your Honor will be pleased to grant her the usual quantity allowed to others of her description and she will ever pray
