Juanita Grant Hodges, a resident of the Masonic Retirement Home in Arlington, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at the age of 94.
Mrs. Hodges was born in Atlanta, Georgia to William Frederick and Juanita Coolidge Grant on April 16, 1921. She married Dr. Claude Hodges on March 26, 1947 in Wichita Falls, Texas. Mrs. Hodges was very active in volunteer work in Wichita Falls and was named a Gallon Club Member by the American Red Cross.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Frederick Hitchcock; grandsons, David Matthews Whitley, and Keith Lee Whitley; and her husband, Dr. Claude Hodges.
Mrs. Hodges will be remembered for her beautiful smile and her love of people.
She is survived by one daughter, Evelyn Hodges Whitley and her husband Claude Whitley of San Antonio; granddaughter, Julie Whitley Schuessler and her husband Randy Schuessler of San Antonio; great-granddaughters, Kayla Whitley of Fort Worth and Sophia Lee Schuessler of San Antonio; great-grandson, David Matthew Schuessler; and granddaughters-in-law, Jennifer Dowdell Whitley and Juanita Crager Whitley.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Merwin Turner, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
