SAMUEL S. HANSBROUGH, 56, of 957 Preston Rd., died at the Washington County Hospital Thursday. He was born in Winchester, Va., son of Mildred Miller, Winchester, Va., and the late Garland Hansbrough.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the 9:30 Sunday School Class. Mr. Hansbrough was a graduate of Shenandoah Military Academy and the University of Virginia. He was employed by Potomac Edison for 30 years. He was a member of the Amateur Radio Society and was communications officer for Washington County Civil Defense.

Besides his mother, he is survived by wife, Dorothy Stouffer Hansbrough; son, James G., Shippensburg State College; daughters, Mrs. Mary Scott Sneckenberger, Morgantown, WV; and Miss Helen Hansbrough, at home; sister, Mrs. John W. Riley, Winchester, Va.

Funeral services were held at the Minnich Funeral Home; burial was in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.
