Martha Ann Sweeney passed away on October 29, 2015 at home with her husband Pat at her side, following a long courageous battle with cancer.

Martha was born on September 8, 1953, to Keith and Katherine Bostock in Keosauqua, Iowa. She attended school in Farmington Iowa and graduated from Harmony High School in 1971. Martha graduated from Northeast Missouri State University in 1975.

She spent her entire career serving veterans at VA hospitals in Des Moines and Iowa City as a medical records technician.

Martha and Pat were married at the United Methodist Church in Farmington, Iowa on March 9th 1985.

Martha loved reading, bowling, playing the slot machines and rooting for the Iowa Hawkeyes. She was the kindest and nicest person you could ever meet.

Martha chose to be cremated and her remains will be placed in the Veterans Cemetery in Killen, Texas, where Pat's remains will be placed upon his death.

A memorial service will be held at Iles-Westover Chapel in Des Moines, Iowa on November 7, 2015, at 11:00 am. There will be a reception following at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
