    Rudolph Langsather
    GUERNEVILLE --
Rudolph G. Langsather, 55, owner of Guerneville Redwood Chapel for the past 14 months, died yesterday after suffering an apparent heart attack.
According to the Sonoma County Sheriff's office and the coroner, Mr. Langsather died yesterday afternoon while doing some maintenance work at Redwood Memorial Gardens cemetery, which he also owned, along with the Langsather Ambulance Service.
His body was found by his wife, Martha Langsather, who had gone to the cemetery to remind him of a Guerneville Rotary Club dinner he was to attend. She apparently called authorities, and they found no evidence of foul play. Mr. Langsather was known to have a heart condition.
Mr. Langsather came to Guerneville last year from San Francisco and in July purchased the Guerneville Redwood Chapel mortuary from Cecil Fewel. A graduate of San Francisco College of Mortuary Science, he was employed by the N. Gray & Co. mortuary there before moving to Sonoma County.
A native of Montana, as a young man he was associated as a carpenter with his father in a contracting business. He then moved to Bremerton, Wash., and was a fireman at the shipyard there for nine years. He was a California resident for 21 years.
Mr. Langsather was a member of the Guerneville Rotary Club, the California and Redwood Empire Funeral Directors Associations, the Sonoma County Ambulance Association, the Guerneville Chamber of Commerce, and the Russian River Rodeo Association. He was also a trustee of the Guerneville Community Church.
He and his wife resided at Fourth and Mill streets, adjacent to the mortuary.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his son, Gerald Langsather, San Francisco, and a daughter, Mary Ellen White, Portland, Ore. He was the brother of John Langsather, Roundup, Mont.; Nels Langsather, Salem, Ore.; Gladys Wolf, Salem, and Esther Melnik, Roundup. Three grand daughters also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Guerneville Redwood Chapel with the Rev. Robert Jones, of the Guerneville Community Church officiating. Burial will be in Redwood Memorial Gardens. Contributions are preferred to the sight conservation program of a Lions Club.
