September 29, 1910 - November 2, 2015

Beulah Davis Yates, 105, peacefully went to be with her Lord on November 02, 2015. "Granny" is survived by her daughter, Martha "Marty" Silverwood; son-in-law, Jim Silverwood; granddaughter, Emily Rice and her husband, Jeremy Rice; step great-grandsons, Brady and Colton Rice; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Mrs. Yates was born in 1910 in Marianna, Florida to Cincinnati and Rosalie Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George Yates, who passed away in 1958. Despite encouragement from her family, she never had any interest in getting remarried, saying "One husband was enough!" She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Hinton Davis, Albert Davis, Beatrice Pace and Mary Helen Griffith.
Mrs. Yates was a long time member of East Hill Baptist Church, and until she was unable to attend, she had a reserved seat on the front row. Heaven help the person who sat in her seat on Sunday mornings. She believed in sleeping late, wagging her finger at everyone who deserved it, making phone calls instead of sending cards, and playing a mean game of Yahtzee. When asked about her secret to long life, she said it was "the Good Lord and coffee."
Mrs. Yates lived independently until age 99, when she moved to the Health Center of Pensacola. The staff at the Health Center, particularly her special "angels", Charlene and Timika, took wonderful care of her, and she loved them very much. Her family is eternally grateful for their dedication and expertise.
Funeral services will be held at Bayview Fisher-Pou Chapel on Wednesday, November 04, 2015 at 1:30 p.m., and she will be the center of attention one more time, just as she liked it. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., Wednesday.
Interment will follow at Bayview Memorial Park.
BAYVIEW FISHER-POU CHAPEL, 3351 Scenic Highway is entrusted with arrangements.
