William Mayes "Bill" Alexander, was born in LaCoste, Texas on Saturday, February 5, 1927 to parents Leslie D. and Mary Marguerite (Stuart) Alexander. He passed away in Houston, Texas on Friday, October 30, 2015, at the age of 88.

Survived by his beloved wife, Dorsey Mae, their loving children and other family members, "Bill," as he was best known to his many church friends, was also known as "Alex" by his many friends in the Spring Branch Independent School District, where his career spanned fifty years. He also had a long career with the U.S. Postal Service.

Family and friends will gather to share memories at a visitation from 5:00pm until 7:00pm on Wednesday, November 4th, at Waltrip Funeral Directors, 1415 Campbell Road in Houston. Funeral services, lead by The Reverend Jim Berggren and The Reverend Karen Davidson, will be conducted at 2:00pm on Thursday, November 5th, in the sanctuary of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 7901 Westview (at Wirt Road), with interment to follow at Woodlawn Garden of Memories, 1101 Antoine, also in Houston.
