OBIT: BELOIT – Delmas A. "Del" Rorabeck, 76, Route 1, Beloit, died at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19, 1990, in Beloit Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born on Aug. 3,1914, on a farm near Osseo, the son of Curtis and Minnie Nicholas Rorabeck. He lived 45 years in the Beloit area, moving from Osseo in 1945. He married Margaret Rose Thomson on Oct. 12, 1941, in Osseo. She died March 10, 1978. He later married Lois E. Coburn in Shopiere Congregational Church on April 6, 1989. He was employed in electrical construction, a trade he followed until his retirement. He was a World War II Army Veteran serving with the 83rd Chemical Battalion in the European Theatre, member of Shopiere Congregational Church, member and former commander of West-Field American Legion Post 48, member Volture 844 Rock County 40 & 8 and a 40 year member of International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 890. He graduated from Osseo High School in 1931. Survivors include his wife, Lois; son, Richard D. Rorabeck of Beloit; daughter Sharon Rose of Roscoe; two grandsons, Bill and Derrick Rose, both at home; two stepdaughters, Carol (Taylor) Taylor of Juneau, Loretta Tentcher of Cambridge; stepson, David L. (Judy) Coburn of Beloit; eight step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents; and son-in-law, Wayne Rose. Services will be at 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, at Shopiere Congregational Church, Beloit, with the Rev. Lloyd Mokool officiating. Burial will be at noon Saturday, Dec. 22, in Osseo Cemetery, Osseo. Friends may call from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at the church where there will be 40 & 8 Services at 7:45 p.m. Hansen Funeral Home, Beloit, in charge of arrangements. A memorial fund is being established.
