Shelia was born in Dallas on Dec. 11, 1958, to William Harvey Medders Jr. and Margret Anne Tipton Johnson. She received her bachelor’s degree in education from David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Tenn.; her master’s degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, and later, received her principal’s certification. Shelia was a school teacher for Mexia ISD for 33 years and principal of the Mexia Junior High School for one year, prior to retiring due to health reasons. Sheila was married to Charles Sims and had two children, Samantha and Cameron. She was also grandmother to Adleigh Sims.
Sheila loved the Lord and was very active at church. She taught Bible class and was a great example of what a Christian woman should be.
The celebration of Sheila's life will be on November 4th at the Northcrest Church of Christ in Mexia, TX with interment at the Mexia Cemetery.
