Marvin Russell Gibson, age 71, of Kalamazoo, passed away November 1, 2015. He was born January 16, 1944 in Mobile, Alabama to the late John and Elsie Gibson. Marvin is survived by his wife, Linda, four children; Richard (Patty) Gibson, Robert (Sherry) Tester, Kelli (Randy Weaver) Heyboer, and David (Tanes) Gibson, eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, sister, Mary Catherine Turnboe and brother, Charles (Sarah) Gibson. Marvin was preceded in death by his two brothers; Lewis Pruitt Gibson and Johnny Glenn Gibson. Marvin served his country in the Navy, he retired from Jarvis Pemco after 32 years where he worked on building and maintaining machines. He was a member of the Mattawan Masonic Lodge and the Paw Paw Conservation Club. In his spare time, Marvin enjoyed spending time fishing, hunting, watching John Wayne Movies and Nascar Racing. Most of all, Marvin took great pride in his garden, he was a true master gardener and an excellent cook. Friends and family are invited to visit on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 W., Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where funeral services will commence at 1:00 p.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial donations may be directed to the West Michigan Cancer Center in Kalamazoo.
