Ralph H. Boardman, age 94 of Lansing, IL, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, whom he faithfully served, on Friday, October 30, 2015. He is survived by his two loving daughters: Linda (Tom) Boardman- Butler and Christine (Randy) Widstrand; seven beloved grandchildren: Gwen (David) Szymendera, Andrew (Evelyn) Anastasia, Natalie (Joshua) Green, Katie (Jay) Williamson, Eric (Megan) Widstrand, Bryan (Stacy) Widstrand, and Laurie (John) Bart; 11 treasured great grandchildren: Joe, Max, Nellie, Isadora, Elijah, Natalie, Lydia, Claire, Annie, Lincoln, and Owen; loving sister: Ruth (nee Boardman) Lucht; and nieces and nephews. Mr. Boardman was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Nellie (nee Howard); daughter, Susan Anastasia; brother, Stanley; and parents: John Moses and Alma (nee Blecke) Boardman. Mr. Boardman will be laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Nellie, at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Elmhurst, IL. Mr. Boardman served as a Teacher and Principal at Trinity Lutheran Church and School for 35 years. He was a member of the Greatest Generation and honorably served his country during World War II in the United States Army, being awarded the Purple Heart for wounds received. He was an avid fisherman and loved fishing at the Lansing Sportsman Club. He enjoyed traveling and classical music. Emanuel Christian School, With God's Little Ones in Broyouk, Cambodia was built in his honor by a former student. He was a wonderful and gentle Hero of Faith and led his family and students by example.
