James grew up in Delaware, the son of the late Charles N. De Prisco Sr and Elizabeth (Godwin) DePrisco. His paternal grandparents were Frank M De Prisco and Elsie May (Heisler) De Prisco. (Jimmy, like his grandmother Elsie suffered from diabetes, which has taken so many of the loved ones in our family from us).

He was the brother of Charles N "Sonny" DePrisco, who predeceased him, and 7 sisters that survived him: Charlotte, Grace, Elsie, Betty, Dorothy, Nancy and Linda, all of whom miss him terribly.

Jimmy was a loving husband to Helen (Kerrigan) DePrisco, his wife of 33 years, adoring father to daughters Dana and Lori, and loving grandfather to Dylan.

Jimmy worked as a police officer for the Elsmere and Newport Police Departments. He also worked security at Delaware Trust for a number of years, and then as manager of the surveillance and security at Delaware Park Slots.

He was a member of the Army National Guard.

He was devoted to his church (serving on the parish council of St Matthews). His funeral Mass was held at St Matthew's, and burial at Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington, on January 28, 2003.

He was one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. A truly loving, giving man who is remembered, and missed, by all that knew him.

Requiescat in pace, gentle soul.
