Sandra Lee Hood Harvey, age 61, resident of Medon in Hardeman County, departed this life Friday morning, October 30, 2015 at the Humboldt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Humboldt, Tennessee.

Services of Remembrance for Ms. Harvey will be conducted at 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with interment in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64. A visitation for Ms. Harvey will be from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Arrangements will be provided by Peebles Fayette County Funeral Homes & Cremation Center - West Chapel at Oakland.

Ms. Harvey was born August 15, 1954 in Memphis. She received her education at Bartlett High School in Shelby County and was of the Baptist faith. She was a lifelong resident of Shelby, Fayette and Hardeman counties and enjoyed playing softball. In high school, she was a member of the Rainbow Club and was later employed at the Whiteville Correctional Facility for 11 years.

Ms. Harvey is survived by her daughter, Celia Howell of Medon; her mother, Nora Carter (Roy) of Somerville; two sisters, Peggy Banks (Gary) of Somerville, Janice Morrissett (Larry) of Atoka; and two grandchildren, Ashleigh Howell of Bolivar and Riley Prater of Clarksburg.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Hood.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Dan Morrissett, Michael Morrissett, Mike Lavander, Gary Banks and Rusty Carter.
