Mrs. Carrie Kirksey Long, age 94 of Enterprise passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015.

Born August 10, 1921 in Gordon to the late Charles and Lily Robinson Kirksey, Mrs. Long was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, canning and putting up her vegetables and she was an avid Braves fan. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years for the City of Ashford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Charles Hayes Kirksey and Bueren Kirksey; and her sisters, Katie Nell Kirksey and Meredith Davenport.

Survivors include her daughters, Sonja Gail Kinser (Mack) and Kathy Louise Holbrook; her son William Shinholster (Debra); her sisters, Geraldine Hall, Maxine McDonald, and Faye Duke (Darrell); eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, November 2, 2015 from the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Doster officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM, Monday, November 2, 2015 one hour prior to service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Diabetes Research at www.diabetesresearch.org or Heart Disease Research at American Heart Association or www.heart.org
