Elizabeth "Betty" Werner, 89, of Springfield, died at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2015, surrounded by her loving family.

Betty was born June 22, 1926, in Springfield, the daughter of John F. and Anna Nollen Blair. She married William E. "Bill" Werner on Oct. 6, 1951, in Illiopolis; he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 2008.

Betty enjoyed traveling and was an avid gardener. An accomplished artist, she enjoyed drawing and oil painting. She adored her grandsons and had a special love for her dogs. She was a member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John J. Blair; one sister-in-law, Betty Werner; and one brother-in-law, Charles Werner.

She is survived by four children: William "Bill" , Mary , Kathleen and Carol ; two grandchildren,; two step-granddaughters, three step-great-grandchildren; ; several nieces, nephews and cousins;

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
