Margaret Arlene Ferneau, 69, died on Monday evening at Grinnell General Hospital of a heart ailment.
She and her husband, Gerald, were instrumental in organizing the Tama County Association of Retarded Citizens as well as the Tama County Exceptional School for the Handicapped.
Surviving are her husband; three sons, Frank of Lyons, Kansas, and Claude and Clair, both at home; a daughter, Elaine Stanton of Montour; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Service at Harrison's, burial in Prairie View Cemetery, Gilman.
