He is survived by three children, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Doug graduated from Harding High school in 1950, enlisted in the United States Air Force then retired December 1, 1970 after 21 years upon which he and the love of his life of 43 years, Ann, moved to San Antonio.
They joined the St. Johns United Methodist Church June 1978 where he was the driving force in starting a Thrift Store. He was Chairman of Finance, Church Council, and Trustee for many committees. Doug loved the Lord, believed in giving back and answered his calling working with The Jefferson Outreach delivering meals, groceries and transportation to medical appointments for 25 years.
A private burial will be held at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date,
