Paul E. Riggs Jr., 56, of Buckeye, Ariz., passed away Friday, May 27, 2011 after his courageous battle with cancer.

He was born in Sherman, Texas, on March 16, 1955, a son of the late Paul E. Riggs Sr., and Tessie M. Riggs, currently of Buckeye, Ariz.

Paul served in the U.S. Army, and was a former resident of Luzerne County, where he resided for approximately 30 years.

He is survived by his loving wife Carol; children, Paul E. III, Desiray, Matthew, Jacquelyn, and Lindsey; and grandchildren, Alexandra, Kelsey, Rylee, Paul, and Aryan. He also leaves behind a sister, Becky; and brothers, Jerry, Terry, Brian, Gerald.

Along with his love of the outdoors, he was also an avid carpenter, NASCAR fan (#24), and spent his life raising and caring for animals.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Buckeye Funeral Home, 104 E. Baseline Rd., Buckeye, AZ.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either of the following Phoenix, Ariz., organizations: Hospice of The Valley or Saint Joseph's Hospital.
