George E. Gorman, 87, Maple Avenue, Biglerville, PA died Saturday, October 31, 2015 at SpiriTrust, Gettysburg, PA. He was born July 21, 1928 in Waynesboro, PA the son of the late John and Thelma Baker Gorman. George was the loving husband of the late Barbara Klinefelter Gorman who died in 2003.

George was a 1946 graduate of Gettysburg High where he was an outstanding athlete in both Track & Field and Basketball. He then attended Gettysburg College on a basketball scholarship, graduating in 1950. He then went to work for his father­in­law, as an electrician for Klinefelter Electric in Biglerville until 1958. In 1959 he began a partnership with Allen McDonnell at McDonnell Construction Co. and was the business manager and a representative for Keystone Homes Sales. He was also the one of the founding fathers of the Builders
Association of Adams County and served as its first President. 1980 he left McDonnell Construction Co. and began working for Pen Mar Inc., managing Hallmark Card Shops until his retirement in 1998.

George was a devoted husband and father spending the majority of his adult life supporting his wife and their three sons in
their athletic endeavors and life challenges. In his retirement he followed the careers of his grandchildren and as his health declined he was content in his recliner watching sporting events on TV.

Mr. Gorman is survived by two sons; Steven J. Gorman and his wife Amy of Gettysburg, PA, Thomas W. Gorman of Littlestown, PA, three grandchildren; Elizabeth Gomer and her husband of Gettysburg, PA, Tyler Gorman and his wife Keisha of Lititz, PA, Kyle Gorman and his wife Jesse of Denver, CO, two great granddaughters;
Hayla Gorman, Zizi Gomer, a brother, Merle Gorman and his wife Alice of Woodburn, OR. He was predeceased by a son, David Gorman, a brother, John Gorman and a sister, Mildred Groft.

Following funeral services interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA.
