Perry Long, 75, of 631 38th St., died of renal failure on Friday at Mercy Hospital Medical Center. Burial in Prairie View Cemetery in Gilman.
Mr. Long was born in Gilman and had lived in Marshalltown before moving to Des Moines, 52 years ago. He was a retired loan officer.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Bonnie Long of Urbandale and Janet Hackenbroch of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Faye Richeson of State Center and Margaret Hawkins of Mount Vernon, Washington; and three grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue League.
Arrangements were handled by Dunn's Funeral Home.
