Clara was born on July 17, 1924, in Rock Island, the youngest child of Charles W. and Frieda Meyer Barnett. She married Arthur Fisher on March 27th, 1948 in Rock Island, IL. They celebrated 59 years of marriage before Art's death on April 22, 2007.
Clara was employed by Bituminous Casualty Corporation for over 15 years before her retirement in 1990. She was a former member of the King's Daughters and is a current member of Memorial Christian Church.
The majority of Clara's time was spent with her family and she found true fulfillment from being a caregiver to her husband and sisters. She could be found almost every Sunday afternoon eating candy and playing cards with her family.
Those left to honor her memory include her only child, Beth (Gary) Bryant of Davenport; Granddaughters Alexis (Brent) Lafrenz of Davenport and Abbey (Adam) Friedline of Lincoln, IL; Special family friend Deb Valkenaar of Prospect Heights, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers Frederick and Charles Barnett and sisters Kathryn Wagner and Marguerite Roman.
The family would like to thank the staff of Hope Creek Care Center and Hospice Compassus for the marvelous care she received.
