ANTHONY ADAMSKI

Anthony Adamski, 85, of Kenosha died Friday (June 5 1998) at Hospitality Manor Nursing Home.

Born Dec 16, 1912 in Racine, he was the son of the late Antony and Praxeda (Poplowski) Adamski. He attended Racine schools.

On Dec 16 1941 he married Alicia Zukowski at Holy Name Catholic Church in Racine. He served as a staff sergeant in the US Army during World War II as a member of the 239th Military Police Company. He was stationed in the Philippines, New Hebrides, and Japan. After his honorable discharge from the Army he moved with his wife and family to Kenosha. He was employed as a carman with the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad retiring after 31 years Previously he had worked at the National Tea Food Store and Racine Screw Co. After his retirement from the railroad he continued to work part time as a security guard at St Catherine's Hospital. He was a member of St James Catholic Church a life member of both the PLAV George Washington Post 34 and VFW Junker-Ball Post 1865. He was a member of the Polish National Alliance and the Railroad Retirees. He enjoyed reading Zane Grey and Louis L' Amour novels and conversing on his CB radio.

Surviving are his wife, a son Anthony R Adamski of Sanford Fla., a daughter Alicia L Pollock of Salem, seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were three sisters Genevieve, Clara and Catherine "KC" Adamski and a brother Stanley. Piasecki-Althaus-Thulin Funeral Home 3720 39th Ave is in charge of arrangements.
