Dryden, March 30 - Benjamin S. Weyant, 83, a former Cortlandite, died Saturday afternoon, March 25, at the home of his niece, Mrs. Henry Drexler, in Otego. Mr. Weyant had been at his niece's home since July, 1949.

He was born October 14, 1866, in Little Hollow, the son of George Washington Weyant and Mrs. Caroline Homer Weyant. Mr. Weyant lived in Dryden most of his life. He worked in the hardware store part of his time in Dryden and lived in the house on Unio street, now Mrs. Ruth Settle's residence. The Weyants moved to Cortland in 1944. Mr. Weyant's wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Lombard Weyant, died in Cortland, April 27, 1949.

Mr. Weyant was a member of the Dryden Methodist Church, and the Homer Avenue Methodist Church of Cortland.

He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Nellie Weyant Mudge of Cortland, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service Monday in the Earle W. Wright Funeral Home, Cortland, at 2:30 P.M., was conducted by Rev. Edgard O. Spaven, pastor of the Homer Avenue Methodist Chruch. Interment will be in the Cortland Rural Cemetery.
