Nellie Jones Spencer, 88, of Martinsville, VA passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015. She was born in Fries, VA on June, 14, 1927 to the late Mary Virginia Caudell Jones and Boyd Jones. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Harvey Spencer, son, Jerry Jones and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Spencer was a member of the Collinsville Church of Christ and retired from the Henry County Public Schools.
She is survived by her daughters, Jeneane and husband Larry Guilliams of Collinsville, VA, Nancy and husband Jack Beavers of Collinsville, VA and Virginia “Cookie” Spencer of New Jersey; sons, Brad Spencer and wife Renee of Oklahoma City, Ok and James Spencer of Martinsville, VA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The memorial service will be held on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Collinsville Church of Christ, Collinsville, VA with Ministers Troy Hollandsworth and Donald Kendrick. Visitation will be on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the church. A private burial will follow in Roselawn Burial Park.
