EDENTON - Debbie Rea Pierce, 60, of 316 Woodland Drive, passed away on Friday, Oct. 30, 2015, in Vidant Chowan Hospital.
Mrs. Pierce was born in Chowan County on May 14, 1955, and was the daughter of the late William D. Rea, Jr. and Myrtis Downs Rea Stallings. She had formerly worked as the manager of both the Apricot Sewing Factory in Hertford, and the Red Apple Market in Edenton. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are her husband of 44 years, John Paul "J.P." Pierce; a daughter, Felicia Parrish and husband Jay, and a son, J.C. Pierce and wife Amy, all of Edenton; a sister, Virginia Alexander of Edenton; a brother, Dwight Rea of Hertford; and four grandchildren, John Paul Pierce, II, Trey Parrish, Jaycee Pierce, and Colby Parrish.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Miller Funeral Home & Crematory, 735 Virginia Road, Edenton, by the Rev. John LaCount and the Rev. Thomas Biggs. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Friends may join the family Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the funeral home and all other times at the residence.
