Clint Davis, 54, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the St. Joseph’s Candler Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. Born on September 12, 1961 in Sumter County, he was the third child born to Katie Witherspoon Davis and the late Joe Davis, Sr.

Mr. Davis was educated in the public schools of Sumter County and a graduate of Sumter High School, Class “1979. He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Work from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina, Class of 1985. After graduation he joined the United States Navy and served for eight years.

In his early years, Clint joined Westminster Presbyterian Church and was baptized and served in faithfully in the young adult ministry. He was very active in the community and volunteered in his spare time at the Greenhouse Youth Children’s Home of Sumter.

Mr. Davis was previously employed with EpWorth Children’s Home, and DSS Special Needs and Disabilty Services. In later years, Clint shared his gifts with Emanuel United Methodist Church Soup Ministry. Clint had a zest for life. His hobbies included: cooking, eating, and indoor and outdoor sports. He was a huge fan of the Los Angeles Raiders. Because of his love for grilling and eating, his family nicknamed him “Starvin Marvin”.

Mr. Davis appreciated his tour of duty with the United States Navy which afforded him the opportunity to travel around the world and he enjoyed sharing many interesting stories with his friends and family.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his only sister, Rosetta Davis Burson; his paternal grandparents, Willie and Dorcas Anderson Davis and maternal grandparents, Alexander Sr., and Lucille Pearson Witherspoon.
