Lou Alice Jackson, 76 of Newbern, Tennessee died on Thursday, October 29, 2015, at Dyer Nursing Home in Dyer, Tennessee.
Born Friday, April 21, 1939 in Gibson County, Tennessee.She was the daughter of the late Edward Ray Whitley and the late Lois Irene Houston Whitley.
She was a retired employee of All Wear Manufacturing and HECO Manufacturing.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she served as pianist and organist for many years. She was also a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Women.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jamie Adams and Rev. Perry Grills officiating. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00 PM until service time at Cool Springs Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-three years, Thomas Monroe Jackson of Newbern, Tennessee; three sons, Albert Edward Jackson of Kenton, Tennessee, Nelson Lee Jackson and his wife, Yvette of Victoria, Texas and Harold Thomas Jackson of Newbern, Tennessee; one brother, Jerry Whitley of Newbern, Tennessee; three sisters, Farra Bell of Rutherford, Tennessee, Myra Enders of Pontiac, Michigan and Carolyn Finch of Richardson, Texas; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers, Houston Whitley, Halder Whitley and Donald Whitley.
Pallbearers will be Seigal Jackson, Mike Minton, Mike Pruitt, Mickey Robertson, Andy Alford and Harold Dunivant.
