Nick John Condas, 82, died Monday, June 21, 1999 in a local hospital of causes related to renal failure.

He was born April 14, 1917 in Bingham Canyon, Utah to John G. and Demetra Condas. He attended schools in Salt Lake City. He attended UCLA for three years and graduated from the University of Utah in 1941.He worked for the Federal Government most of his life, serving as an auditor at Remington Arms, closing that facility after World War II. He had a distinguished service at the Tooele Army Depot. In 1951, Mr. Condas joined the Army Audit Agency in Tokyo, Japan, where he became branch chief with 300 employees. He also learned to speak Japanese fluently. Mr. Condas was appointed comptroller of the Agency for International Development program, serving in the Far East and various other countries in the world until his retirement in 1973.

He is survived by two brothers, George (Vasso) Condas and Chris (Dorothy) Condas; and two sisters, Ellen (Pando) Bayas and Mrs. Alexandra Ockey of Spokane, Washington; three nephews and five nieces.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12 noon at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 279 South 300 West. A prayer service will be held Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Neil O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, where friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Burial, Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 East 500 South.
