Laura married her first husband James Stieff (1887-1964), in 1928. Her second husband was Roscoe Hess.

HESS, Mrs. Laura Stieff (nee Dienes) passed away Wednesday, June 11, 1975 at 5 a.m. in her 73rd year at her residence, 1808 Lower Hunters Trace. Devoted wife of Mr. Roscoe Hess, beloved mother of Mrs. Helen Shawler, and sister of Mrs. Ann Kastelhun and Mr. Phillip Dienes. She is also survived by grandsons, Joe and Jim Shawler. Arrangements and Funeral services from Owen Funeral Home. Burial at Cave Hill Cemetery.
