Gerald J. Meyer, 56, 217 Ninth Ave. N, Waite Park, died Saturday at St. Cloud Veterans Administration Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waite Park. The Rev. Vince Lieser will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Dingmann Funeral Home, Sauk Rapids, and one hour before services at the church in Waite Park. Parish prayers will be 7:30 tonight at the funeral home in Sauk Rapids.
Gerald Meyer was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Waite Park to Joseph and Ida (Platz) Meyer. He married Mary Lou Moore Sept. 13, 1958, in St. Augustine Catholic Church and had been a resident of Waite Park most of his life. He was a carpenter, employed by Buettner Construction Co. of St. Cloud for 19 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Waite Park.
Survivors include his wife; daughters and sons, Mrs. Thomas (Betty) Kirchner, Waite Park; Joseph, St. Paul; Donald and James, St. Cloud; Mary Kay and Gerald "Gus" Jr., at home; sisters, Mrs. Edwin (Marcella) Bretz and Audrey Kloss, St. Cloud; Mrs. Harold (Delores) Vogt, Waite Park; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Ralph and Claude; and sister, Juletta Rau.
