Clemence was born April 13, 1922 in St. Cloud to Damus & Theresa (Binzcek) Mechavich. He married Jean George at St. Marys Cathedral in St. Cloud on June 5, 1944. He worked as a foreman for Great Northern/Burlington Northern Railroad in Waite Park. Clemence was a member of St. Josephs Catholic Church in Waite Park. He was an Army veteran of WWII and the Korean War and a member of the National Guard for over 20 years. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star.
Survivors include his son, David (Sandra) of Lake Elmo; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Mechavich of Apple Valley; brother, Edmund Mechavich of Oskaloosa, KS; and grandchildren, Doneva (Jean-Michel), Dana (Todd), Michael (Misty), Stephanie, Jennifer (Scott) and Jonathan (Emily).
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; son, Donald "Donnie"; sister, Helen Nahan; and brother, Raymond.
