James Clinton Teeter, 86 years of age, of Oakboro, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.

James was born December 9, 1928 in Stanly County to the late James Ralph Teeter and the late Lottie Morgan Teeter. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Marie Allen Teeter, in 2012; three sisters, Lucille Gaddy, Doris Helms, and Inez Hayes.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service, officiated by Dr. Terrell Watts, will be on Sunday at 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church, 322 N. Main Street in Oakboro. He will lie in state for 30 minutes prior to the service. The burial will follow at Oakboro Cemetery, 1397 North Main Street, Oakboro. At other times, the family will be gathering at the home.

He is survived by his sons, Hoyt Teeter and wife Sherri of Oakboro, son, Chad Teeter and wife Angie of Oakboro, NC, Reid Teeter of Salisbury; daughter, Lisa Notaro and husband Joe of Charlotte; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

James enjoyed spending time with his family. He honorably served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, and was a cattle farmer.
