Constance Joan (Stypa) Krusniak went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2015 at the age of 81.

She was born on Nov. 9, 1933 the daughter of Michael and Joanna (Luczyk) Stypa. Connie attended and graduated St. Joseph Catholic School graduating in 1951 as the class valedictorian. She continued her education at Mercy School of Nursing in Cadillac, graduating in 1953 as a member of the first graduating class of nursing students.

After graduation she was employed at Mercy Hospital of Cadillac as a surgical nurse. Upon returning to Manistee she worked at Mercy Community Hospital and West Shore Hospital. On Dec. 13, 1995 she retired from West Shore Hospital ending a nursing career she enjoyed. On April 26, 1958 she married Leonard A. Krusniak at Saint Joseph Catholic Church in Manistee, where she was a lifelong member.

She is survived by her husband Leonard, six children Anita Marie Richmond, Michael Anthony (Kathleen) Krusniak, Patrick Leon (Mary) Krusniak all of Manistee, Jolene Patrice (Gordon) Alger of White Cloud, Marisa Louise (Gordon) Brick of Rockford, Illinois, and Andrew Neil (Judy) Krusniak of Hickory Corner.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jonathon (Amelia) and Benjamin Blakeslee, Nicholas, Katerina, Anthony Krusniak, Cody (Felicia) Alger, Molly and Chloe Brick, Andrew and Landon Krusniak. Also surviving is her sister Mary Louise Gregory of Stoughton, Wis., and her brother Gerald Stypa of Manistee. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents Michael and Joanna Stypa, sister and brother in-law, Rita A. and John W. Miller, a sister in-law, Geraldine P. Stypa and two nieces, Rebecca L. Miller and Deborah (Stypa) Jensen.

According to Connie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial Mass from The Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Manistee with Rev. Chet Collins celebrant.
