Funeral services will be private for Clarence F. "Pat" Schaefer age 85 of St. Cloud who died Sunday, March 13, 2005 at his home. Reverend Timothy Wenzel will officiate. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Parish Cemetery in Waite Park, Arrangements were by the Daniel Funeral Home, St. Cloud.

Pat was born on January 28, 1920 in Waite Park, Minnesota to John and Katherine (Torborg) Schaefer. He was a U.S Army Veteran of WWII serving in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater, the European-African-Middle Eastern Theater and later in the Korean War. Pat married Palma J. "Polly" Hanson on December 30, 1947 in St. Cloud. He was employed as a Correctional Officer at the Minnesota Correctional Facility-St. Cloud for 25 years, retiring in 1975. Pat was a member and past Commander of the St. Cloud Veterans of Foreign Wars Granite Post 428, and a member of the Waite Park American Legion Silver Star Post 428 and St. Anthony's Parish.

Pat is survived by his brother, Arthur of St. Cloud.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Polly on February 4, 2005, his parents, sisters, Agnes Peterson and Loraine Schaefer, brothers, Raymond and Gilbert.
