Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home

Patricia Ann “Pat” Eason, age 83, of Scranton passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines following a brief illness.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Pleasant Ridge Evangelical Free Church south of Glidden with Pastor Chaun Bergmeier officiating. Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton from 5 – 7 P.M. on Friday evening. The casket will be moved to Pleasant Ridge Church at noon on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Music for the service will be by Abbey Lochmoeller and Joan Bundt. Casket bearers will be Sherwood Hoyle, Duane Bundt, Don Badger, Todd Tidgren, Paul Raak, and John Meshek. Burial will be in the Dillavou Cemetery near Scranton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton.

Born on March 19, 1932 in Leon, IA, she was the daughter of Harry “Bud” and Anna (Lohman) Hall. Pat grew up in the Dedham area and graduated from Glidden High School in 1949. She worked at McNaughts Grocery Store in Glidden and as a dental hygienist.

She was married to Paul Eason on November 21, 1954. Paul and Pat farmed north of Scranton on the Eason family farm and she was very active in the farming operation. She also owned and operated a craft and gift store called “Paintin’ -N- Treasures” which was on the farm. She also taught organ lessons and was a 4-H leader for the Kendrick Merry Maids. Pat was a member at Pleasant Ridge Community Church where she was a very in the church. She taught a Bible study at Shady Oaks Nursing Home in Lake City for over 15 years. She enjoyed painting, yard work, cooking, going for car rides, flowers, her kitties, the Hawkeyes and Cyclones and going to her flex and stretch class at the Rec Center. Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Pat is survived by a daughter Polly Eason of Carroll; two sons Perry Eason of Scranton and Philip Eason and his wife Laurel of Bellevue, Ne; three grandchildren: Joseph Eason and his wife Jen of Port Washington, WI, Abbey Lochmoeller and her husband Michael of West Des Moines, and Amos Eason and his wife Susan of Ankeny; five great grandchildren: Samuel, Madeline, Dylan, Joseph and Micah; a sister Jean Nielsen and her husband Richard “Duke” of Centennial, CO; a brother Jim Hall of Norwalk; a sister-in-law Elizabeth Fey of Carroll; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul in 2007, and a baby daughter Pamela Eason.
