Professional Football Player. For five seasons (1975 to 1979), he played at the safety and cornerback positions in the National Football League with the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. After attending Kashmere High School in Texas, he earned an athletic scholarship to play collegiate football at Texas A&M. Selected by St. Louis as the 21st pick during the 1st round of the 1975 NFL Draft, he totaled 66 career regular season games. In 1977, he distinguished himself when he led the NFL with 2 fumble recoveries for touchdowns and the following year (1978), he produced a career-high 6 interceptions for 118 yards.
