John Fredrick "Jack" Sikes Sr.
Born March 29, 1932 to Leon and Iona Sikes in Washington DC, the family moved to Callahan, FL when he was 6 years of age to be near his Father's family. After graduating from Callahan High School, he married Audrey Nell Bryant on September 15, 1951 and entered the Air Force during the Korean War. After his discharge he returned to Callahan where he and Audrey started a family, John Fredrick "Jackie" Sikes in 1960 and Kelly Lynn Sikes in 1964. He worked for the Callahan Police Dept and was a volunteer EMT and Rescue Person for a number of years before eventually retiring from Florida Power and Light after 38 years of employment.
Jack was preceded in death by both parents and his wife of 60 1/2 years, Audrey, his son Jackie and his brothers Leon, and Paul and his sisters Mary and Patricia. He is survived by daughter Kelly Lynn Sikes (Carol Cothren) and brother George Sikes (Aloma) and many nieces and nephews.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father and friend and will be forever missed.
Viewing will be at 5pm August 9th at Nassau Funeral Home followed by Services at 6pm at the Funeral Home.
