During World War II, Edna was a Rosie the Riveter for airplanes at Beech Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas. After the war, Edna was a beautician with a shop in her home.
Edna is preceded in death by her husband Paul in 1993; her parents; her sister Icis L. Eisenhower & her husband Glenn; her sister Lois N. Schwien and her husband Sigurd; and her brother Ralph Glenn McKenzie.
Edna is survived by her son, Bennett Grate & his wife Sharon; her daughter, Paulette Woellhof & her husband Dan; her four grandsons: Shannon Grate & his wife Kelli, Travis Grate, Derek Woellhof & his wife Jessica, & Blaik Woellhof & his wife Amanda; her five great grandchildren: Kaidnce, Emerson, Henry, Hadley, & Weston Woellhof; her sister Virgie Renner & her husband Melvin; her sister-in-law Wanda McKenzie; and her nieces & nephews.
