After a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, March 5, 1980, at the Neepawa District Memorial Hospital. Weldon Roy Buchanan, aged 76 years.
He leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife, Gladys, son Terry, daughter-in-law, Sharon and grandchildren, Tara Lee and Bryce of Minnedosa, one brother, Sanford, and two sisters, Mrs. Jim McLaughlin and Mrs. Maurice Habkirk, Neepawa. Funeral services were held Friday, March 7, from the Neepawa United Church, with Rev. Gordon Fulford officiating. Interment followed in the Neepawa Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Ron Habkirk, John Graham, Gordon McCracken, Fred Coulter, Keith Griffith, Wm. McKee and Roy Bateman. Active pallbearers were Robert McLaughlin, Arthur McLaughlin, Mac Buchanan, Lionel McGhie, Harvey Martin and Bill Martin.
