At Neepawa, after two months illness, William Maurice Habkirk, 80, of Neepawa, passed away March 17, 1982.
William was born at Neepawa on January 27, 1902, and attended Osprey School. He farmed in the Osprey district, RM of Langford, until 1966, then retired to Neepawaa. He married Florence Bell Buchanan on October 15, 1935, at Forrest, Man., in the United Church. He was a former Osprey School trustee, and member of the United Grain Growers and Neepawa Curling Club.
Funeral services were held March 20 at the Neepawa United Church with Rey. Jack White officiating. Interment
was at Riverside Cemetery.
Active pallbearerers were Arthur McLaughlin, Bob McLaughlin, Macklin Buchanan, Terry Buchanan, Glenn Montgomery and Don Mont-gomery. Honorary pallbearers were Basil Wood, Roy Tindall, Robert Davidson, Harold (Nero) Thompson, Doug Hockin, BIll Adams, Clarence White and Bruce Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Florence; son, Ronald James and wife Helen of Winnipeg; daughers, Donna (Mrs. Keith Strong) of Winnipeg; Lois (Mrs. Bob MacDuff) of Edmonton, Alta., Betty of Kamloops, B.C.; grandchildren, Brent and Lori MacDuff of Edmonton and Colleen Habkirk of Winnipeg; broth-ers, Gordon of Olds, Alberta, Jim of Red Deer, Alberta; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and sister, Helen Seaborn.
