Kathryn passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the age of 93. She was born August 19, 1922 in Battle Creek to the late John and Bernice (Luce) Carlson. Kathryn was united in marriage to Clyde Gibson, who preceded her in death in April of 1975.
Katie loved to crochet, read, garden, and feed and watch birds. But mostly she loved her family. Every Sunday meant dinner at Grandma's where it was common to have over 30 attend. She looked over everyone and was the glue that held the family together. Katie will be greatly missed, but will never be forgotten.
Kathryn is survived by her children, Linda Stephens, Nancy Foster, Carol (Lee) Borden, Robin (Gary) Eyre and Mike (Janet) Gibson; 14 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; 5 great-great grandchildren and 1 on the way; sister, Beverly Way; and several nieces and nephews. Kathryn was also preceded in death by a son, Robert Gibson; brothers, John and Donald Carlson; and sons-in-law, Frank Stephens and Jim Foster.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, October 29th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 East Maple St., where a funeral service will take place on Friday, October 30th at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Prairie Home Cemetery in Climax. A luncheon will be held from 1-4pm at the Scotts Community Center, 8450-36th St. Memorials may be directed to Shriners Hospitals for Children , Climax Fire Department or Climax-Scotts Schools Baseball Field Projects.
