Eldon Milton Boone, Jr. passed away on October 28, 2015 at the age of 82. He was born at home in Wichita Falls, Texas, the only son of Eldon Boone, Sr. and Marie Boone. Eldon grew up in Wichita Falls and graduated from Wichita Falls Senior High School, William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.
Eldon served churches in Texas, Oklahoma, Virginia and Tennessee as Minister of Music and Education, Associate Director in the Church Training Department of the Kentucky Baptist Convention, Director of Church Training, Church Music, and Student Work in the State Convention of Baptists in Indiana and was Preschool Sunday School Supervisor at the Baptist Sunday School Board (now LifeWay).
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Pat Boone; sons, David Boone and Mark (Jill) Boone, all of Nashville; his sister, Ann Crenshaw and her son, Kevin of Houston, Texas and several cousins.
Eldon was a member of Brentwood Baptist Church.
Private entombment at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
