Mike Whitlock, 56, of Bassett, died on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his home. He was born in Floyd County on October 4, 1959 to John “Buck” Whitlock and Jean Pratt Whitlock. Mike was preceded in death by his grandparents, Esley and Lessie Whitlock and Shirley and Lydia Pratt.
In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his wife, Melissa Whitlock; a daughter, Nikki Whitlock; a son, Michael Whitlock and his wife, Bridget; two grandchildren, Brooke Galyean and Maci Whitlock; two brothers, Bobby Whitlock and his wife, Joan and Johnny Whitlock and his wife, Cristy and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 29, 2015 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the Bassett Funeral Service Chapel where a funeral service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Eugene Chitwood and Pastor Bobby Rakes officiating. Burial will follow the service at Henry Memorial Park.
