Sonya Marlene Jones, 62 of Logan, WV departed this life on Monday, October 26, 2015 at Logan Regional Medical Center.

She was born June 15, 1953 in Madison, WV a daughter of Janice Jones and the late James Edward Jones.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Seaburn & Georgia Frye and James Tillman & Bessie Jones and her infant sister, Teresa Lynn Jones.

Sonya loved reading, watching TV and spending time with all the kids in the family. She was known to them as Big Sissy.

In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include three sisters, Leah Jones, Yvonne Sammons (Rick Hughes) and Retha (Vessie) Marcum; two brothers, Sean and Bradley Jones; and her niece and nephews, Rachel (Randall) Tiller, Chad (Rachael) Marcum, Josh, Brandon, Zane, Aiden, Emma, and Kason Jones, Christian, Caleb & Paige Tiller, Avarie Pansera, James, Nick and Kara Marcum, and Natalie Jarrells.

Services will be held at 1 pm, Friday, October 30, 2015 at Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Skeens officiating. Burial will follow at Frye Cemetery, Verdunville, WV.

Friends may call Friday, October 30, 2015 from 11 am – 1 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chad Marcum, Sean Jones, Randall Tiller and Rick Hughes.
