Son of James Samuel Booth and Myrtle Bell Vannatter Booth, he was a WWI veteran and recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries suffered in France while serving with Company "H", 28th Infantry Division. During the Great Depression he was employed as an electrician for the Electric Boat Company in Groton, Connecticut. At his death at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Huntington, he left behind his wife, Bessie Moses Booth, and three children, Robert, Rosemary, and Donald.
