Moore George 1846 1914

George Moore, aged 67 years, one of the best known citizens of the town of Hounfield died very suddenly Wednesday
afternoon at tbe home of George Livermore a neighbor. He was a native of Hounsfield and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Amos Moore. With the exception of three years in the United
States army he had been a life long resident of the town of Hounsfield. In 1868 Mr. Moore enlisted in tbe 18th New York Cavalry and saw service in several battles of the war. He was
in tbe Red River expedition. He was given an honorable discharge, serving for a year in Texas. Returning to Hounsfield Mr. Moore took up farming and had resided there
since that time. He was married to Miss Orra Matteson shortly after the war. Last Monday be purchased the Windmill cheese factory at East Hounsfield and was to have taken possesson within a short time. He leaves his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Charles Fields of Hounsfield, one brother, Burley Moore of Hounsfield, and a sister, Mrs. Robert Beggs of this city. Interment in North Watertown Cemetery
