Robert "Bob" J. Burns, 82, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2015 at his residence. He was the husband of Carol A. (Gondlach) Burns with whom he celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary May, 2015. Mr. Burns was born in Holidaysburg on February 18, 1933, son of the late Sheldon Burns and Agnes "Dot" (Stinebrenner) Kuhn. Bob was employed as a mechanic's assistant for the former Koppers Co., from which he retired. In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Robert J. Burns, Jr. and Christopher L. Burns and his wife, Kathy, all of York; a daughter, Cindy A. Deitz and her husband, Gary; eight grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and a sister, Nancy Trusz of Ohio. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Samuel Kuhn. All services will be private at the convenience of the family. At Bob's request his remains were donated to Humanity Gifts for educational purposes. Arrangements were entrusted to the LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., York (Shiloh).
